Kentucky State Bridal Association Meeting: Kim Speaks!

Last week Barbie and Kim had the pleasure to travel to Belterra Casino for the Kentucky State Bridal Association meeting. Kim was the featured speaker. "Trends in 2010" was the topic of her speech and power point, informing bridal consultants on the newest and best trends for weddings this year. In case you haven't been there, Belterra Casino is fabulous! The Honeymoon Suite and guests rooms are to die for. The chef is amazing and the facilities for a destination wedding are just what you have been looking for. Both Barbie and I are ready to return to Belterra for a little R&R. Many thanks to our hosts Rayna Ortwein http://www.alwaysplanned.com/ and Leona Morelock http://www.leonamorelock.com/ both very successful bridal consultants in the Lexington area.

The very next day, Kim was a speaker for the Indiana Association of Bridal Consultants meeting held in Columbus at the very chic Hotel Indigo (you have got to see it.....so hip and fun). Consultants from Chicago, Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio and Indiana all gathered to learn the very newest trends for 2010. Kim spoke about her experiences at The Special Event Show, an international event seminar in New Orleans this month and the best trends for 2010. Hostess was Jeffersonville planner, Stephanie Isbell http://www.plannedperfection.com/.

Love Letters You Will Cherish!

Valentine's Day will be here soon and why not celebrate with some of the most sought after jewelry now. Your prince can be charm-ing when he presents you with a sweet gift from www.julesjewelry.com or www.helenficalora.com.
Jules explains about her jewelry,"I individually hand-stamp personalized charm necklaces with your special sweetie's name, a special date, anniversary charm or Mother's charm. So sweet! I have oodles of styles available including Monogram necklaces, tiny charms and heart charms. So much fun! Personalized jewelry individually hand-stamped just for you." Jules Jewelry is a Chicago based designer.
Helen Ficalora will be a sweet gift too. Ficalora reigns in Olympia and Montauk. Her jewelry has been featured in a host of television shows, movies, and magazines including Harper's Bazaar, In Style, Lucky, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, and Real Simple, "Ficalora's jewelry offers a seamless transition from day to night." Most of her jewelry is gold cast. I got one of her silver charm necklaces with a crown on it (thank you Courtney) for Christmas. I love it! An idea with the charms, spell out love, your initials, or what about your future initials??? Nice! By Kim

Plum and Lime; Fruit or Fashion?

Plum and lime are two of the very hottest colors coming up this season in bridal couture. With the fresh feel of the bright green and the jewel tone of plum spring and summer have to be right around the corner! Many brides are incorporating the plum hues with a different spin off; green toned flowers. Discover varieties of viburnum, hydrangea, roses, fujis, orchids, zinnias, Bells of Ireland, berries all in a gorgeous array of green. For perfect plum palettes select roses, orchids, gerberas, lillies, alstromeria lilly, lilacs, hyacinths, and tulips.
Angie Kenley, co owner of Bokay Florist, www.bokayindy.com loves this look!"It's clean, sophisticate and dynamic. I love the combo; a perfect compliment on the color wheel."
Angies's favorite lime flora is symbidium orchid and favorite plum is the dendrobium orchid.
The orchid is very popular because it is a long lasting, beautiful bloom that can enter twine with lots of other gorgeous stems. Other combos are the beautiful Bells of Ireland and Fuji mums paired with anything. What a stunning look in both color and pop.
The beautiful bouquet pictured is featured in www.instyleweddings.com.
